Incoming Council Candidates 2022

 

Larry Mclain

Currently a serving member of the Faith Center council. Seeking a second 2 year term.

Larry McLain was born in Bremerton, WA. He is the son of a navy officer, father of two adult married children and two adult step children; and grandfather to eight grandchildren. Larry has lived in many states throughout his life including: Washington, West Virginia; California, and Oregon. Larry joined the Navy at age 18 and served abroad in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan. After being discharged, Larry went to Multnomah Bible College and later, applied for work within the US Postal Service where he worked for 30 years. Larry retired from his work at the postal service at the end of 2012 and began working with special needs children in various public schools in the Hillsboro school district.  Larry has been a member of Aloha Faith Center since 2019 and is passionate about learning and growing in the word of God.


Lisa o’rielly

Currently a serving member of the Faith Center council. Seeking a second 2 year term.

Lisa was born in Springfield, MO. She accepted Jesus as her Savior during a Camp at the age of 6 which set the foundation of her ongoing faith. Lisa attended Cal Baptist University, majoring in Communication Arts and minoring in music. After graduating from college, Lisa met and married her husband and immediately moved to the Portland area. Since that time, Lisa has served as a youth pastor, worship leader, Sunday school teacher and assisted in planting a Church in the Beaverton/ Hillsboro area. Over the past 13 years, Lisa was a teacher at Faith Bible High School where she taught various classes, programs and faith studies. Lisa began attending Aloha Faith Center in November 2019, where after one service, they knew this was where God had been leading. She has been actively serving in the Faith Center youth ministry.  Lisa is excited to be a part of her new family at Aloha Faith Center and is looking forward to serving in whatever capacity that God leads.


Michele Martin

Currently a serving member of the Faith Center council. Seeking a second 2 year term.

Michele was born in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Medford, OR at the age of 2.  She lived there until leaving for University of Oregon in 1970.  She graduated in 1974 with a B.S. in Education, subsequently moved to Beaverton, OR and worked for Tektronix.  She married John Martin in 1978 and has a son, Chad.  Teaching was her passion, so after 13 years at Tektronix, she began her teaching career in Hillsboro School District for the next 30 years.  She has been a member of Aloha Faith Center since the very first day.  At Faith Center, Michele served on the worship team for almost 20 years and was a middle school/high school youth leader for 7 years.  She has also participated in women’s ministries.  Her late husband, John and she established a scholarship fund that was later to be named the “John and Michele Martin Scholarship Fund”.  Those who know her, know she is an AVID Oregon Duck fan.


Larry Hoyer

Former serving member of the Faith Center council. Seeking a new 2 year term.

Larry has been a member of the church since 1998. Over the years he has volunteered to serve the church in many ways. He and his wife Carole have led many small group Bible Studies. For many years he served as a worship team member, he enjoyed singing and he also set up the first worship tech team in our current building. He has served and supported the youth of our church in many various ways and for several years he has been on the scholarship committee. Larry was a member of the Pastors building advisory committee when our current church building was being planned and remodeled. Since that time, he has been involved in the updating and negotiation of our building lease agreements. He has served on several church councils and was very involved in the leadership of our church during every Pastoral transition.
